WHAT ARE ESSENTIAL OILS?
Essential oils are concentrated, scented oils that have been extracted from natural plants and fruits. They are generally steam distilled or cold processed and contain a multitude of natural constituents that can improve health.

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ESSENTIAL OILS AND FRAGRANCE OILS?
Fragrance oils are synthetically manufactured and have no therapeutic value. They are designed for scent only.

Pure and natural essential oils are derived from plants or fruits and are subject to seasonal variation; they are generally more expensive than fragrance oils.

CAN I USE ESSENTIAL OILS DURING PREGNANCY OR WHEN BREASTFEEDING?
While some essential oils are thought to be safe during pregnancy, we recommend consulting with a medical expert or a nationally qualified aromatherapist before use.

ARE THERE PARABENS IN YOUR ESSENTIAL OILS?
No – all of our Essential Oils are made with 100% plant-derived oils.

CAN I USE ESSENTIAL OILS AROUND MY CHILDREN?
If you are concerned about using Essential Oils around children, we recommend that you consult with a medical expert or a nationally qualified Aromatherapist before using.

CAN I USE YOUR ESSENTIAL OILS AROUND MY PETS?
If you have a pet, please keep essential oils out of its reach.

Peppermint, Tea Tree, Eucalyptus and Citrus oils can all be toxic to dogs and cats as they contain phenols, so use caution if diffusing these around your pet.

If diffusing oils around your pet, watch for any changes in their behaviour or eating pattern. If there is a change, we recommend stopping using that oil.

If your pet does accidentally ingest an Essential Oil, please see your vet immediately.

ARE YOUR ESSENTIAL OILS 'THERAPEUTIC GRADE'?
We use pure, certified organic ingredients in our Essential Oils, and the oils themselves are also certified organic under ACO. This means they're of the highest quality—unadulterated, just pure plant and fruit oils with their full therapeutic value.

SHIPPING

Orders will typically leave our studio within 2 to 3 business days from the order date, although in some cases, unforeseen circumstances may cause a delay.

To obtain the most up-to-date information on estimated dispatch dates, please refer to the product pages, which we regularly update. If you are purchasing a gift or require the order by a specific date, we recommend checking the estimated dispatch date before placing your order.

We ship twice a day, Monday to Friday. Our courier packages are collected from our studio at 7:30 am and 4:30 pm on the same day. Once your order has been booked onto the courier, we will promptly send you a tracking number via email. While we will typically use NZ Post to ship all orders, we reserve the right to use any carrier.

Upon booking your order, we will send you a shipping confirmation email, which will include tracking information. We will also forward any delivery messages we receive to the courier driver via the delivery notes. Please note that we cannot guarantee that the drivers will act on written requests, as we do not have control over their actions.

In addition, please note that rural deliveries may take longer to be delivered, typically adding an extra 1-2 days to the delivery time frame. As such, we recommend allowing for additional time when placing orders to rural addresses.

Please ensure that you carefully check your shipping address when placing your order, as orders are printed and sent using the details that the customer has entered. If you notice any errors in your shipping address, please contact us as soon as possible to make corrections before your order is shipped.

RETURNS/REFUNDS

At Melt my Heart, we take pride in producing handcrafted products that are unique and may have slight variations between batches and individual items.

If you are not satisfied with your purchase, you may be eligible for a refund if the product is returned within 14 days of receiving your order. To qualify for a refund, the item must be in new and unused condition, with all original packaging and labels attached.

Please note that if you are returning the product due to a change of mind, such as not liking the scents you have chosen, the return postage costs will be your responsibility. However, if the items are defective, such as a lack of scent on inspection or due to breakage during transit, we will refund the return postage costs.

We want you to be aware that a minority of people may be less susceptible to some scents, and we cannot guarantee that all scents will suit everyone.

If you are eligible for a refund, you may choose to receive a refund to your original payment method or a store credit can be issued. Please let us know your preference when you initiate the return process.
